Education Crisis
Good Morning yall! Hope yall have enjoyed yours thus far! Today I want to talk about the education crisis. Isn't it incredible that those two words would even follow after one another? Education is supposed to be on the the few things promised to us in America. It is supposed to be the building block for the future of tomorrow. I feel that it is ridiculous how it has now been put on the back burner in a sense for children. Children have a need for education and it is essential to their journey through life. I cannot express how important education is! I think it is awful that education is being stripped away right before the eyes of our youth. Even within our own communities we have seen this time and time again. For example, Burke County School System is living under accredidation limitations which could possibly hinder the futures of our youth. Another example would be Memphis City School System. They are currently in a LOCKOUT! When I researched this I was just amazed that such could even exist. Their terms seem to be money issues and are put under the test to have 50+ million dollars in order to break the lockout. Since when did education become based soley on monetary means? You cannot put a price on education. It seems that America truly has its prioroties mixed up because how is it that the NBA, NFL, and other professional sports get their checks with no hassel and its not that big of a problem, but when it comes to education we cannot come up with the money or any donors for that matter?? How ironic is it that the NFL and NBA both were experiencing a lockout, but now as of yesterday, the NFL officially announced theirs to be over? They will be going back to work with no worries while we have children, parents and teachers worried about whether they will have the means to obtain their education or secure their jobs. Since when did education become meaningless and of no value? I'm just fueled by all of this. Our youth should be top priority right now more than anything. If education is taken away from them imagine what roads they will have left to travel down. The youth crisis is already at an all time high and even seeing those results in small communities such as Morganton, NC. Something has to be done to redirect the primarty focus of education. Eduation will always be something you can use throughout your life and it's necessary for the economy that we're living in today. Just imagine what was going through the minds of those NFL and NBA players who never finished their college degrees due to being drafted! They had nothing to fall back on which is very dangerous. Yes, they may have millions saved up and so forth, but at the end of the day money don't last always. Education allows you to think outside of the box and prepares your for ways of adapting even when things such as professional sports fail. We have to all come together and promote the importance of education and how critical it is for our youth.

Knowing Your Purpose
Good Morning! It's been a while, I just needed to regroup and get my mind back together! I hope yall have had a great week and week thus far! Today I am talking about knowing your purpose in life. Living through life takes knowing your purpose for your life. What is the point of living if you have no idea of what your purpose on earth is? There would be know point right? In order to know your purpose you have to ask God. In time he will show you or tell you. Your purpose can come to you in any instance or timing. However, there is a process before God actually shows or tells you. Sometimes we have to go through and or experience different aspects of life. Through those things we are often molded into adapting to those things or situations known as struggles. Struggles often have a purpose behind them that are building blocks for our overall purpose of living. Over time you've adapted to those experiences and have used different techniques of life in order to be able to adapt. Adapting is just another way of learning. Not only learning how to deal with those experiences, but learning different things about yourself that give you meaning. Through that God is showing you what your purpose of living is. I truly believe after the death of my cousin, my purpose for fighting for our youth became much more clearer. I will do everything in my power to prevent things like this from happening again within our own communities and everywhere!

A Life For A Life
Yesterday was a day that I will never forget. A day that drastically changed the lives of the people around. A cousin, a son, a father, a brother, a nephew, a grandson's life was taken senselessly. As I sit here and type all I can think about is how funny and goofy my cousin was and how he always kept somebody laughing. We just have to remember the good times and never let those memories fade. Nobody deserves to have their life stripped from them in the blink of an eye. How can we keep taking the lives of our own brothers and sisters? Taking a life for another life because someone is willing to take someone else's life and give up their's to the penatentary. I will never understand the mind frame of such actions. Don't yall know this is exactly what THEY want us to do?? Research our history and trace back to the the "infamous" Willie Lynch. He was a supposedly a slave master who came from the middle east and taught the other slave master how to control their slaves. The best solution to control them was to turn them against each other. Does that ring a bell? Over 200+ years ago, we still see those same affects. Black are against each other even today and have failed as a race at coming together as a whole. There is a lack of positive influence in the lives of our young people and a lack of hope. We keep fighting the same battle, but never realize that it will never be won if we don't have positivity present and willing to take a stand. We are living in a time where it is vital that we love and support each other. It's time to stop hating each other and beefing with each other and committing senseless acts of violence! It has to stop, we are loosing each other to a never ending battle. Don't be afraid to step up and take a stand because it could help save a life. Let's stop trading a life for a life. You never imagine a tragedy like this happening so close to home, but in reality it does happen everyday. Please let this be a wake up call and a life changing tragedy to everyone. Life is too short for the nonsense and violence. Learn to love and lift up our brothers and sisters. We all we have in this world. We have to look our for each other and stop being similar to crabs in a bucket, pulling each other down. We will never make it in this world without God first and love.

Change is Good
Good Morning!! I hope yall enjoyed your weekends and are having a great week thus far!! Change is a huge lesson throughout life. As we go through life we will begin to notice things that no longer work for us that may have worked in the past. Progression is a major key of life. We can do one of two things, either change or stay the same. Change is a mere image of progression. It can be a little scary at times, but it will be worth. It consists of coming out of your comfort zones and leaving places that feel so secure and full of boundaries. But isn't leaving comfort zones and crossing boundary lines a thrill and kind of exciting? When you decide to step outside of the box that you have created for yourself, you began to live more freely. The thing about change is that it can be constant. We change for the betterment of our lives. Never change because someone wants you be act, look, or be a certain way. That will only lead to never being satisfied with who we are. Give your self the better judgment of what you need to change in your lives. Falling to be a victim of routine can only produce the same results. In life you want to constantly grow and produce new results, so it would be useless to continue to do the same things that produce the same results.

Doing the Right Thing
Heyy yall its been a few day! Hope everyone is well! Today I wanna talk about doing the right things. Sometimes in life it is hard to chose the option of doing the right things. Unfortunately its so much easier to do the wrong things verses doing the right things. We know that doing the wrong things are spontaneous and usually thrilling, but those feelings can sometime lead us down the wrong paths. Doing the right thing can be a little repetitions and boring but it's so much more rewarding! Never get tired of doing the right things. Remember good things bring good results while bad things bring bad results. A great example is the story of a former gang member. He thought gang banging and robbing other was much more exciting than obtaining his own things the honest way. He thought he was more respected and accepted by others doing those acts. After doing 10-15 years in prison he soon realized that life was easy but only lead to destruction. He now knows that the harder route of doing good and right brings about the most rewards and most importantly he has gained the respect and acceptance from those he never imagined.

Focus
Heyy yall!! I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend and the 4th of July!! Today I saw one of the realest tweets from @teracarissa via @youngfitandfly which stated, "Stop keeping tabs on the competition. Start keeping tabs on U. U should NEVER know more about your "competition" than U know about yourself." Now, if that tweet does not say more than enough I don't know what will! This is so true a lot of the times we have our minds focused on our competition and not enough on ourselves. When you have a goal at hand that should be your main focus. This applies for not only competition but friends, relationships, aquaintances, etc. There is no time to look to the left or the right. No time to worry about what he or she is doing. You are your main priority and focus and what everyone else is doing should not matter. When those people and things start to matter it only becomes a hindrance to your success and personal growth. So today I encourage you all to stop loosing focus and sleep on the things that have no power over you or any limitations on elevating your life. Stop keeping tabs on your comepetion and start keeping tabs on YOU!

Work With What You Got
Good Morning! I have been a little MIA the last couple days! But I'm back! Today I would like to talk about working with what you got. In life we are not all granted with a golden spoon in our mouths and we have to learn to work with what we have. Money is not always everything when pursing your dreams. I feel that as long as you have an honest passion for what you do and believe in, then the means of pursing will come. Your passion and your dream will always take your farther than any amount of money could. Having been granted the tools and talents of your dreams you are already set for success. Don't be discouraged bc you don't have the monetary means to take your dream to the next level. As long as you keep your head up and look to the hills from whence cometh your help, God will always make a way. I believe He has already went ahead and predestined your footsteps and your lack of monetary means is just a test of faith to see if you really believe that He will do what he said He will do. If you truly believe that it will take you farther than you even dreamed of. So, don't get caught up in the monetary aspect of dreams, but learn to work with what you got and see how things will work out! All things work together for the good of those who believe! Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!
